At Mindful Medicine we provide psychiatric medication management for adults and adolescents. Whether you are considering medication for the first time or seeking a second opinion, our approach is collaborative and evidence-based. We support patients to work through a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, attention deficit, eating disorders, post-traumatic stress, and postpartum mood disorders.

We measure the success of your treatment by symptom reduction and the functional benefits that follow; greater satisfaction in relationships or career, increased vitality, and improved overall health. To help clarify and support your goals, we provide detailed initial appointments, gathering medical and social histories, and we collaborate with outside providers for care coordination.

We chose the word Mindful to describe our practice for two reasons. First, at Mindful Medicine we believe psychiatric medication can be a powerful tool for recovery that must be integrated in a skilled and thoughtful manner. Valuing informed choice, we outline treatment options, emphasize potential risks and benefits, provide education on responsible use and carefully monitor for side effects. We also offer supported tapering plans to patients who choose to discontinue medication.

Second, we see that mindfulness - or simple awareness - while often sidelined during busy times is a necessary tool for personal growth. Living in an era of constant distractions and endless to-do lists, most of us need the gentle reminder to bring our attention back to the present moment. Rather than allowing fear or frustration to mislead us, tuning into our emotions and acting in accordance with our values can yield great progress over time. Whether guided by your therapist or practiced on your own, mindfulness is a skill that is always available to help you along your journey.

We honor each patient as a whole person in whatever phase of life they find themselves. We don’t pathologize the human experience. We offer a safe and supported space where patients can explore treatment options to improve their mental health.
